Chevrolet Nova

The Chevrolet Nova was first introduced in 1962 and was produced for five generations from 1962 until 1979, and then again from 1985 until 1988. The first generation Chevy Nova was a compact-sized car that first featured an inline-four engine or a straight-six engine. Drivers could not opt for a V-8 engine until 1964. By 1968, Chevrolet had redesigned the Nova to better accommodate a larger and more powerful engine. By the fifth generation of the Chevy Nova, which was produced between 1985 and 1988, it was equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with a three-, four-, or five-speed automatic transmission. Some models of the Chevy Nova could also be purchased as a convertible, which set it apart from other muscle cars of its time.
