The Trax is the smallest crossover SUV in Chevy's lineup and was one of the first models in the subcompact SUV market. It has a surprisingly spacious interior for a small vehicle and offers plenty of luxury features. The 2019 model keeps many of the great features offered in previous models. Here are the details.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Chevy Trax comes in three different trim levels. The LS, the entry-level model, comes with 16-inch steel or alloy wheels, depending on whether you choose front- or all-wheel drive, and automatic headlights. A step up to the LT trim will add upgraded headlights, heated side door mirrors, LED daytime running lights, and LED taillights.
The LT also comes with roof rails, and if you add the Sun and Sound Package, it comes with a sunroof. The LT is also eligible for the Redline Edition package, which adds black body accents, black 18-inch, and the Trax's signature red line around the vehicle.
The Premier trim comes with all the extras available for the LT and adds 18-inch wheels and fog lights.

Engine (Power)
All of the Trax models get a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. Chevy pairs this powertrain with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is available for any of the trims.
Performance
The 1.4-liter engine provides the small Trax with plenty of power. Combined with the responsive steering system, quick acceleration, and strong brakes, this engine makes the new Trax fun to drive both down the highway and on back roads. Since it's small and has a tight turning radius, the Trax is also an excellent vehicle for urban living.
Interior
There is room for up to five passengers in the Trax with a good amount of head and leg room up front. The cabin features some soft-touch materials and comfortable seats. The driver's seat has power-lumbar support, even in the base trim, and cloth upholstery comes standard with the option to upgrade with the LT's Convenience Package. This suite adds premium cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat.
For technology, a 7-inch touchscreen, the Chevy MyLink infotainment system, and OnStar with 4G LTE and a Wi-Fi hot spot all come standard. You also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and two USB ports. The LT's Uconnect system gets some upgrades that include satellite radio and a 110-volt power outlet for the rear seat passengers. The Sun and Sound package upgrades the stereo to a seven-speaker Bose system.

Safety Features
All the Trax models get a rearview camera and come with ten air bags. The 2019 model also comes with OnStar's emergency telematic system with automatic crash response. If you add the Driver Confidence Package to the LT trim level, you'll get blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Premier is the only model to get lane departure warning and a forward collision warning system.
