The Chevy Traverse got a refresh last year that included more space inside, a new look outside, and added features. The 2019 model adds even more features, taking the new design to the next level. Its new features include new chrome roof rails and new 18-inch silver painted alloy wheels for the 2FL and 1LT trim packages.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are seven different trim levels available to choose from with the Traverse. The base-level L comes with 18-inch wheels and xenon headlights. The LS has all the same features as the L but adds the option for all-wheel drive. The LT Cloth model adds roof rails and integrated turn signals, while the LT Leather model adds leather upholstery and optional 20-inch wheels and panoramic sunroof. Choose the RS trim to get 20-inch wheels and a black grille, or check out the Premier trim to get LED headlights, a hands-free liftgate, and auto-dimming mirrors.
The top of the Traverse lineup, the High Country, comes with all the features of the Premier but adds a special all-wheel-drive system that includes an auto-locking rear differential. This model also gets a panoramic sunroof.

Engine (Power)
Most of the Traverse models come with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The RS is the only model to get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that can produce 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. All the models except the L and the RS trims, which only come with front-wheel-drive, offer the option for all-wheel drive.
Performance
The new Traverse is about 350 pounds lighter than previous models, so its V-6 engine gives it plenty of power to get quickly up to highway speed. The Traverse offers a comfortable ride, and it's easy to handle on any type of road. You can get up to 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway when using front-wheel drive. The 2.0-liter engine in the RS trim is a peppy alternative if you're looking for a turbo.
Interior
The 2019 Traverse can seat up to either seven or eight passengers with room for adults in all three rows. In the back, there are 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and over 98 cubic feet with both rows folded down. Every model gets the MyLink infotainment system, which comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Some of the additional technology features that Chevy makes available include wireless charging, satellite radio, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
Safety Features
A rearview camera comes standard in all the trims, and each one also gets OnStar communications. If you add the Driver Confidence package, it comes with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The Driver Confidence II package adds a lane departure warning with an intervention system along with forward collision alert with low-speed braking and pedestrian detection.
