The new Chevy Tahoe is an SUV that's built with the “utility” part of the name in mind. It's not just another car-frame crossover; it's one of the few SUVs left on the market that uses a traditional truck-like body-on-frame design. Trim Levels (Exterior)
Three trim levels are available for the new 2019 Chevy Tahoe. The base level trim is the LS. It's followed by the mid-range LT trim and the range-topping Premier. Even at the base level, you get a sport utility vehicle that's packed with features, but at the top end, you get a truly luxurious experience.
The base level gives you heated mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic wipers, a trailer hitch receiver with wiring harness, roof rails and side steps. Mid-range models give you a power liftgate and an optional luxury package with a hands-free tailgate. The range-topping Premier gives you features like 20-inch wheels and xenon headlights. Appearance buffs will love the RST Edition appearance package that blacks out your exterior.

Engine (Power)
The base engine on the new Tahoe is a 5.3-liter V-8. It gives you 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Optionally, you can upgrade to a powerful V-8 6.2-liter engine that delivers 420 horsepower with 460 pound-feet of torque. The latter engine is only available with the RST performance edition at the Premier trim level.
Performance
The new Tahoe comes with a concealed two-inch receiver hitch and has standard integrated four- and seven-pin wiring. Also integrated is an electric trailer brake with rear-leveling suspension. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but 4WD is available as an option. When properly equipped, the new Chevy Tahoe with 4WD can tow a whopping 8,400 pounds of boat, trailer, flatbed, or whatever else you need.
Interior
While the Tahoe is built for utility, Chevy doesn't skimp on interior design. Behind the third row of seats, you'll get 15.3 cubic feet of cargo space. With the back seats folded down, that expands to 94.7 cubic feet. Standard technology includes remote start, keyless entry, tri-zone automatic climate control, and the Chevy MyLink infotainment system with 8-inch touch screen and full smartphone integration, as well as five USB ports and a 110-volt power outlet.
Safety Features
The Tahoe, like every Chevy product, is quite a safe vehicle. Standard safety features include rear parking sensors with options available like front crash warning, automatic braking, lane keeping, power adjust pedals, and more. Extra available features at higher trims include front parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, navigation, adaptive cruise control, and all the modern safety add-ons.
