Trim Levels (Exterior)
Four 2019 Chevy Equinox trim levels will give you the options you want. The base entry-level trim is the L, which is followed by the mid-range LS and LT trims. Finally, at the top of the line is the Premier. The L level, however, is a custom-order only, so most people will start with the LS as their base trim. Given that, at the LS level, you'll get 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights, and a wide range of color options.
Engine (Power)
Three different engines are available on the Equinox. At the base level and standard on most trims is the 1.5-liter four-cylinder. This engine produces 170 horsepower with 203 pound-feet of torque. You can upgrade to either a powerful 2.0-liter turbo four that nets you 252 horsepower with 260 pound-feet, or a fuel-efficient 1.6-liter diesel option that gives you 137 horses and 240 pound-feet of torque. It's quite the respectable engine lineup for a vehicle in this class.
Performance
Front-wheel drive is standard on the Equinox, with AWD available as an option. The standard turbocharged engine is paired with a six-speed automatic, as is the diesel. The 2.0-liter model is matched with a nine-speed automatic. When properly equipped, the new Chevy Equinox can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
Interior
As one would expect with a Chevy, the interior is well-designed. All trim levels offer superb handling, great comfort and plenty of space. Behind the back seats, there are 29.9 cubic feet of cargo space, which expands to 63.9 cubic feet with the seats folded down. Base technology includes an integrated 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot via OnStar. The Chevy infotainment system is driven by a 7-inch touch screen, and you get full smartphone integration for Apple and Android devices.
The seats are supportive and fully adjustable, so even on long road trips you'll be comfortable, and the suspension does an outstanding job of absorbing bumps and ruts. It's a roomy and quiet vehicle built with high-quality materials.

Safety Features
The 2019 Chevy Equinox does everything it can to keep you and your family safe. It starts with the Chevy Teen Driver feature. A range of optional features available includes cross-traffic alerts, blind-spot monitoring, lane keeping and lane departure, adaptive cruise control, and even front crash warning and mitigation via automatic emergency braking. Most features are available at the top trim level via the Confidence and Convenience package.
