Quick Lube Technician  

 

Lindsay Chevrolet of Woodbridge is looking for a Quick Lube Technician!

The Quick Lube Technician will be responsible for performing a high volume of quality work assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Be able to read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language.
  • Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent.  
  • Valid driver's license and pass investigative background check
  • Will be on your feet standing several hours per shift.
  • Will work both indoors and out, moving about the dealership service department communicating with management and service advisors.  Position requires standing, stooping, bending and crawling under, in and out of cars to make repairs and will road test vehicles.
  • Possess the dexterity (skill and ease in using the hands) to operate hand tools and shop equipment without assistance.
  • Be capable of lifting automotive parts/equipment weighing 50lbs. or less.
  • Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous material.
  • Perform repair work above a 100% quality level.
  • Will be required to wear a dealership uniform at all times.
  • Ability to drive vehicle with manual transmission

  • Basic tool equipment to perform mechanical repairs

Primary Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Perform mechanical work assigned with speed and quality in accordance with established factory and dealership standards.
  • Receive repair orders from Service Advisors and bring vehicle to the stall area promptly for diagnosis and repair.
  • Perform work as outlined on ROs with speed, thoroughness, quality, and cleanliness.
  • Advise the Service Advisor if additional work is necessary through the uses of an Inspection Check sheet or if specific work as outlined is not necessary.
  • Maintain a level of competence for mechanical repairs.
  •  Actively participate in factory exams or development programs.                                                  
  • Keep work clothes, equipment, and stall as clean as possible.
  • Comply with all shop safety rules.
  • Ensure the dealership retains a "satisfied customer" image.
  •  Maintain vehicle cleanliness at all times.
  • Accept repair quality and customer satisfaction as number one job responsibility.

BODY SHOP TECHNICIANS NEEDED

  

SUMMARY:  Repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
  • May specialize in specific repairs such as glass replacement or bumper replacement.
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
  • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  • Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school education and two year certificate from technical school in general body repair and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, vendor catalogs, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete appropriate forms.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  •  Ability to use computer programs to perform job duties.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This position requires sitting, bending, stooping and reaching. May need to lift 50 or more pounds on an occasional basis.

Technician Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  •  Candidate must be able to troubleshoot, analyze, and complete repairs. 
  •  Develop new skills through ASE certification and factory schooling.
  •  Be able to communicate vehicle maintenance and repair needs effectively to a Service Writer.
  •  Input repair information into computer system. (we provide training if needed)

Workload: Our service department continues to grow as new and Pre-owned vehicle sales continue to rise. Expect to turn above-average hours in our factory authorized shop as month after month our service department just can't keep up!
