While the 2014 Chevrolet Impala is set to undergo a complete refresh before it arrives here at Lindsay Chevrolet, serving drivers in the greater Woodbridge, Arlington, and Fairfax areas, it also looks like it will get a boost in the eco-friendly department as well. Chevrolet recently announced that the 2014 Impala would come with an Eco trim, giving those who want all the comfort and amenities that the full-sized has to offer an extra boost in efficiency.
When taking a look at the latest photos of the Chevrolet Impala, you'll see that this new efficient look isn't all that shocking, even on the outside. Sporting a look very similar to the front end of the 2012 Volt. To go along with that new look, the new Impala Eco now features an electric output that aids the engine, helping drivers stretch their miles per gallon further.
With a ten-kilowatt, 15 horsepower alternator-starter that helps recharge the lithium-ion battery pack and provide a boost of torque, the Impala Eco also has an auto start-stop system which will shut off the vehicle's engine when it's idling in traffic. Once the driver switches their foot from the brake to the accelerator, the engine starts back up and you're ready to continue cruising the streets of Woodbridge, knowing that you're also reducing the amount of times you'll have to fill up for gas.
Just how efficient with the 2014 Chevrolet Impala Eco be? Well, Chevy hopes that it will earn an EPA rating of 35 miles per gallon on the highway. Of course, when the official estimates come out, we'll be sure to let you know here on our blog.
