Over its one-hundred-year history, Chevrolet has done more than create iconic cars. The American automaker and its many models have starred in movies. They've also served as inspiration for hundreds of songs, across all different genres.
Don McLean references Chevy in "American Pie". So does Alan Jackson in "Chattahoochee", ZZ Top in "Chevrolet, "Citizen Hope in "Contact", Rod Stewart in "Crazy About Her". Even L.L. Cool J calls on Chevy in his raps.
To honor Chevrolet's long history and the impact the brand has had not just on owners' lives but American entertainment, Pandora has compiled a list of 100 songs mentioning Chevy models, or simply the brand. The station is appropriately called "Chevy Centennial Radio". In addition to those artists previously mentioned, it also features the likes of Prince and Social Distortion, among many others.
If you love Chevrolet and music, you'll definitely want to take the time to check it out. It's available to listen to for free at www.pandors.com/chevy100. The songs you won't hear on the playlist are those with obscenities and the Beach Boys' "409"which, Pandora unfortunately couldn't get the rights to.
